It is a time when the sons and daughters of Item land from far and wide come together (August home coming) to reunite and celebrate with friends and families, thanking God (Chukwu Abiama) for a successful and bountiful harvest.
It is a joyous moment, as the atmosphere is filled with various cultural activities. Some of the cultural heritage of Item people include:
1. Udunkulu masquerade (from Okoko Item)
2. Achu-mpu masquerade (from Okoko Item)
3. Ikperikpe ogu war dance (from Amaokwe Item)
4. Ekpa-oge mystery (from Amaokwe Item)
5. Item women cultural dance.
